This our final edit for our AS Media video.
The website I used to upload everything to was WordPress. Before making the blog I have never had anything to do with blogs or anything like that but gladly I had teachers that taught me how to use it properly so it is the most effective when marking it.
We used our Apple Phones to take pictures of the locations and also take pictures during filming. We used the iPhone 7 as it has a great camera and can make professional like pictures. Also I used my MacBook to access the blog and do mostly everything on it as it is a great working computer.
I used Final Cut Pro to edit the whole video and clips together. As it is a very good software for editing and its made for MacBook so I wouldn’t have any problem with running it.
I used Google as my search engine as it is the most popular and world known search engine. It helped me develop my ideas as it gives you so much more information than you need. So I found out new things that I didn’t know before. For example with its “did you mean” feature it suggested other things as well for me.
I used social media to get my feedback for my video. I uploaded my link from YouTube to Facebook then my friends commented under the video. Then people messaged me on Facebook messenger to give me feedback. I used Youtube to share my video with others and I used Snapchat also for feedback.
I want to go back to talk about Youtube. I learned so many new features in Youtube that you don’t get to experience and learn if you only watch Videos. Ive learned about the whole editing features and putting in text boxes and all those features, I now know what to do and now if I want to continue uploading videos use these features to make my videos better.
I also used http://www.freeplaymusic.com, https://www.freesound.org and http://www.bensound.com for my music and effect sounds. In the end I didn’t use any sound effects because I changed my film concept a bit.
In this I have explained what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? Also how distribution works.
I BELIEVE THE BEST AUDIENCE MEMBER FOR MY GROUPS FILM WOULD BE THE HIPSTER AS THEY ARE A YOUNG GENERATION WHO ARE INTRIGUED BY THE OLDER GENERATION. HIPSTERS ENJOY TO WEAR CLOTHES FROM OTHER GENERATIONS AND OWN ACCESSORIES WHICH ARE EITHER VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE. THEY ALSO ENJOY “OLD FASHIONED” FILMS SUCH AS FILM NOIR.
FAVOURITE MUSIC ARTIST: ARCTIC MONKEYS, BEATLES, RADIOHEAD, THE PEOPLE, INDIE MUSIC

I DID THIS EXERCISE BY MYSELF, TO DO THIS EXERCISE WE HAD TO RESEARCH WHICH AUDIENCE WE ARE ADVERTISING OR FILM TOWARDS, I DID THE TASK AFTER OUR FILM WAS MADE, I DID IT IN CLASS, DURING PREP AND AT HOME. I DID THIS TO HELP EXPRESS HOW DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT TASTE IN THINGS, I DID THIS TO EXPLAIN OUR FILM IN MORE DETAIL.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
- the title of the film,
- the setting,
- font and style
- Special FX
We chose the title the lady in red because the movie is based around the colour red. It is a Neo Noir Film thats why I can use colours in the movie but I’m trying to bring out the colour red so that is why everything else is Black and White which is the emphasis of the “Noir”.
We chose to shoot in school because it was our closest option as we didn’t have time in the holidays. Also the school has some very good locations that look very vintage which is great for our movie. We shot in the south room which is a very classy room also on a very nicely decorated staircase.
We used shadows and silhouettes to build the relationship of the genre plus the characters. It gives of a very shady and dark feeling which is perfect for the genre we chose. It also gives of a very suspicious look which would keep the viewer in his seat as it adds to the effect of excitement. Film Noir is tended to use low-key lightening schemes producing stark light/dark contrasts and dramatic shadow pattering. The shadows of Venetian blinds or banister rods, cast upon an actor, a wall or an entire set, are an iconic visual in film noir and had already become a cliche well before the neo-noir era.
We used a few close ups in the movie as they … build the narrative and genre codes i.e. low angles etc While black-and-white cinematography is considered by many to be one of the essential attributes of classic noir, the colour films are routinely included in noir filmographies. Like we made the Red stand of as a single colour.
Font & Style
I used a very old and classy Font as it emphasises the vintage style that Film Noir should represent. I also made the font reasonably big so the viewer is able to see it and it isn’t to large so it covers the actual footage.
The only effects I used was to on a black and white filter on the clips and also a colour mask on the scenes with red in it as the movie is based around the colour red. I also cut a scene into small pieces and put a black and white filter on every second clip so it looks like its flickering.
The story isn’t very clear as you can’t see the shooters face for example or some of the shots don’t really make sense but that will all be explained later in the movie so it makes sense to the viewer is it is only the opening titles.
This is the kind of dress Katie is going to wear to the shoot as it is very seductive and suits the style of the femme fatale.
This is this the kind of suit leonard is going to wear for the shoot.
this is the kind of suit that james will wear as it shows power.
